Abstract
773,666. Transformers and inductors. SMIT & COS. TRANSFORMATORENFABRIEK N.V., W. Nov. 25, 1955 [Dec. 21, 1954], No. 33910/55. Class 38 (2). A laminated magnetic core structure comprises layers of laminations forming rectangular windings and having leg and yoke members so arranged that in each layer all the leg members are welded to the same yoke member. Figs. 1 and 2 show two adjacent layers in the construction of a single phase core, wherein legs members 2 or 6 are welded to yoke laminations 1, as shown at 3. Thus the butt joints 5 and 8 overlap. If desired, these joints may be other than at right angles to each other. Figs. 9 and 10 show a similar core but in this case grain oriented magnetic material is used which is indicated by the double-headed arrows. Three-phase, threelegged constructions are also described with or without the use of grain oriented magnetic material.
