A spring cushion assembly has rows of helical coil springs 10, adjacent springs having overlapping portions 11, 12, with the rows fixed in spaced relationship by tie wires 14 having depressions 15 to accommodate the coil springs, and metal straps 18 underlying inserts 16 of the tie wires and overlying the overlapping portions 11, 12 to retain the assembly in position and prevent the entry of padding into the coils.
