Abstract
773,252. Rectifying; supply systems for consumption apparatus. LOCKERS (ENGINEERS), Ltd. Nov. 15, 1955 [May 19, 1955], No. 14446/55. Classes 38 (2) and 38 (4). In a circuit arrangement for supplying a mixture of alternating and direct currents to an electrical vibratory machine 3, such as a screen, comprising a rectifier bridge 4 having its A.C. terminals connected to a tapped secondary winding of a transformer 2 supplied from an A.C. source 1 and. having the D.C. terminals of the bridge shunted by a resistor 5 and connected in series with the source 1 and load 3, the control range of the circuit is improved by making the resistor variable and the transformer continuously variable. The resistor and transformer adjusting members are mechanically coupled together for operation by a single control member 6, in such a manner that when the resistor presents minimum resistance the transformer does not supply any power to the rectifier.
