[Also in Group XXVIII] A packing member 3 for a pipe joint is of molybdenum vanadium steel and faced with a thin layer 4 of nickel 0.02 inch thick intimately bonded thereto. The member may be flat or lenticular in form, the surfaces carrying the nickel being convex in the latter case.
