Abstract

773,064. Centrifugal separators. PFEIFFER BARBAROSSAWERKE, AKT.- GES., GEB. Nov. 10, 1955 [Dec. 17, 1954], No. 32230/55. Class 23 Apparatus for classifying solids suspended in gas comprises a screw propeller 5 housed in a duct, the part 2 of the duct downstream of the propeller being convergent so that the part of the suspension passing through the propeller is accelerated to prevent further separation-of solids. The means for collecting the solids separated by the propeller is not shown. Vanes may be embodied in the part 1 of the duct to prevent the suspension whirling before reaching the propeller. The apparatus may be combined with a mill.
