770,962. Mattresses. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd. Aug. 18, 1955 [Oct. 14, 1954], No. 29592/54. Class 52 (4). A bed unit consists of a mattress 1 made of resilient cellular material e.g. foam rubber, formed with deeper parts corresponding with heavier parts of the human body and supported on a rigid pan 2 having a concavity corresponding to the deeper mattress parts, the pan being mounted on a rectangular bearer frame 3, 4 the depth of which is at least as great as that of the pan. The unit may be enclosed by ticking 5, 6 and may be fitted with legs 11. If for a double bed, the mattress and pan have respectively two deeper parts and two longitudinal concavities corresponding to two occupants.
