Abstract

769,793. Electric stop motion. FAIRBAIRN LAWSON COMBE BARBOUR, Ltd. June 13, 1955 [June 27, 1954], No. 21980/54. Classes 120 (2) and 120 (3). An automatic electric stop motion in a textile machine, including two normally separated contacts the first of which is brought into contact with the second on the occurrence of a fault, the second being given a continuous oscillating or rotating motion, is characterized in that the first contact is mounted on one end of a lever the other end of which cooperates with and is moved by a part of the machine which is itself moved by the fault. In the arrangement shown the invention is applied to roller mechanism of a textile drafting bead. On the occurrence of a "lap" on roller 2 this roller is lifted in the support 5 and allows the lever 12 to pivot about 13 in a clockwise direction. The lever 12 carries a contact screw 14 which engages a contact bar 15 carried in insulating bearings (not shown) and given an oscillatory movement by link 16 and pin and slot mechanism 17, 18 and 19. When contact is established between screw 14 and bar 15 the machine is stopped or/and an alarm is given.
