Class 20(3) A transparent weather guard for detachably securing to an open window of a vehicle comprises a shield A of flexible transparent material which is formed, by moulding, or by pressing and cutting, into a shape having three sides B, C, D which converge in a direction away from a rim F to give the appareance of a truncated fragmental pyramid, the meeting edges of the sections preferably being rounded. The rim F, which may be reinforced, is adapted for insertion into the space between the inner and outer sides of a window frame structure in the case of a double walled frame or, between the window pane and the outer wall of the frame within which the pane slides when a single walled frame is used, the upper and lower rim parts Fb and Fc diverging slightly so that the guard has to be sprung into the window frame. The guard is secured to the window frame by means of a hinged clip K which is mounted. on the guard section C to engage the top member of the window frame and by means of a clip L which is preferably made of soft metal strip for bending round a vertical post of the frame. The outer edge is grooved at G to carry rain water rearwardly. In a modification the guard is made of metal, or other opaque sheet material, a sheet of transparent flexible material being inserted, by means of a resilient strip or grommet, within a viewing aperture formed in the guard. The bottom edge of the rim may be of greater width or it may be provided with a widened lip adjacent the rear edge. In both embodiments the transparent material may be made of anti-glare, or coloured, transparent material.
