Abstract
769,446. Packaging sausage skins. WIED, A. DE.. July 11, 1955 [July 21, 1954], No. 21305/54. Class 94(1). [Also in Group VI] Sausage skins 15, Fig. 5, of animal gut in concertina form are provided with a core of polythene &c. 12, each skin then being bent into a loop, Fig. 5, and secured by an elastic band 16. The loops can then be stored in a polythene bag. Each skin length is hand pushed over a tapered tube 6 to concertina it, the tube 6 being supplied with water to flush out the skin. The tube also contains the core 12, so that skin and core 12 can be pulled off together, and looped as in Fig. 5. The core 12 is drawn from a roll 11 then passing through a hole 13 in the tube.
