766,493. Mowing-machines. S.I. ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and GUNTER, C. H. Nov. 23, 1955 [Nov. 23, 1954], No. 33901/54. Class 6(3). A motor-driven mowing-machine comprises a circular cutter disc 10 carrying a pair of diametrically opposed cutters 12 and mounted on a vertical spindle 9 which extends downwardly from the chassis of the machine and is enclosed by a stationary guard. The guard comprises two parts mounted in telescopic relationship so that the lower part 15 is capable of sliding upwards through the upper part 13 to afford access to the nuts and bolts 18, 11 which serve to secure the cutter disc to the flange 19 welded to the lower end of the spindle.
