Abstract

766.362. Draught excluders: SILENT CHANNEL CO., Ltd., TOWNSEND, W. S., and GREGORY, C. H. May 5, 1955 [May 13, 1954], No. 14062/54. Class 20(3) A rubber or like draught excluded 1 for doors and windows is formed with a longitudinal groove 3 to permit it to be engaged over a flange 9 extending around a door, or as shown around a door opening, there being U-shaped clips 4 embedded in the rubber or the like and arranged to grip the flange 9. The clips have inclined barbs 7 which both engage the flange and the draught excluder. A protuberance 8 formed on the draught excluder engages the door 12 when closed. In a modification, the bases of the clips 4 are flush with the base of groove 3 and the excluder 1 is engaged over the outer flange of a channel on the edge of a vehicle boot, the protuberance 8 engaging the opposite walls of the channel.
