Abstract
761,578. Single stroke pneumatic apparatus. WESTINGHOUSE BRAKE & SIGNAL CO., Ltd., and LEECH, K. H. Jan. 25, 1955 [Feb. 11, 1954], No. 4003/54. Class 8(2) A pneumatic motor comprises a first chamber 11 connected to a source of pressure through a duct 6, throttle 5, duct 4 and a valve 36. A spring loaded piston valve 20 is subjected on one face 8 to the pressure in the chamber 11 and a predetermined pressure therein opens communication between the duct 4 and a port 18 which communicates with the chamber 11 through a throttle 21. A further rise in pressure causes the valve 20 to put a port 16 in communication with a port 2 open to atmosphere; the port 16 is connected through a duct 23, a valve 40 and a duct 24 with the second chamber 15, which is thus vented to atmosphere. The valves 36, 40 are pneumatically actuated under the control of a valve 25 to raise or lower the motor piston.
