In a device for distributing fluid from a main pipe 2 to a branch pipe 1, the bianch pipe lies in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the main pipe and extends partially around the periphery of the latter, and a valve 4 controlling the flow from the main pipe to the branch pipe seats on the periphery of the main pipe and has its stem lying at an acute angle to the general direction in which the branch pipe extends. In order to drain the branch pipe, the latter is extended at 5 and provided with a drain valve 6.
