A removable button or like fastening of the kind having a stem which is passed through a hole in a fabric or material and secured by a retaining member that is detachably fastened on the stem at the rear face of the fabric, comprises a disc-shaped portion 11 with a central stem 12 provided with an approximately ball-shaped head 13 which can be engaged by a securing member in the form of a thin substantially flat disc 14 with a central hole through which the head is passed, the hole being smaller than the head, and at least a diametral part of the disc containing the hole being composed of resiliently flexible material, such as a synthetic plastic, to render the disc capable of being bent or folded approximately along a diameter, thereby to cause the hole to dilate and permit passage of the head in securing the button to a fabric. In the example the disc-like securing member 11 is wholly of resiliently flexible material and is slightly dished. As shown the head 13 is substantially ellipsoidal with its major axis at right-angles to the axis of the stem. Specification 588,871 is referred to.
