Abstract

760,660. Rotary sprayers. AKTIESELSKABET NIRO ATOMIZER. Nov. 15, 1954, No. 32990/54. Class 69 (3). A rotary device for the atomization of liquid in a reaction chamber comprises a rotary vaned wheel 25 mounted on a shaft 15 and closely spaced from a solid part 22 at the base of a casing 31 depending into an opening 2 in the chamber wall. A gear-box 9 is mounted on the casing cover 7 and the gearing rotates the shaft which extends through tubes 16, 20. The wheel includes tubular radially-extending channels 27 which are fed with liquid from a supply pipe 29. A tube 33 supplies a non- corrosive gas to the space between the part 22 and the wheel and a further tube 35 extends from a pressure control device to the space via a channel 34 to control the supply pressure of the gas. The gas may, in addition, be fed through inlets 36 and 37, Fig. 1, to the casing 31 and gear-box respectively.
