A strip of dough 4 is fed by a conveyer 3 to a conveyer roller 2 is flattened by a roller 5, and is coiled and moulded by rollers 7, 8, respectively mounted between levers 9 pivoted at 12 and having adjustable counterweights 15, 16. Holes 13, 14 are also provided in the lever to allow the fulcrum to be-adjusted. The lever is so arranged that when the strip is coiled the lever has swung to a position which allows the coil to drop between the rollers 2, 7. In a modification, Fig. 2, coiling and moulding rollers 26, 29 are mounted between levers 22 pivoted at 23, and having an adjustable counterweight 30. Strips of dough from a hopper 24 are stretched transversely by helical ridges which extend in opposite directions over half the length of the rollers 21, 25. In a further modification, Fig. 3 (not shown) the coiling roller is adjustably mounted between levers pivoted about the shaft of the moulding roller. The machine may be so designed that the coiled strip is discharged from the machine with the seam of the strip at the bottom. The rollers may be made of " Plexiglass " (Registered Trade Mark). The diameters of the moulding winding, and conveyer rollers are in the proportion 1 : 2 : 3.
