In an automatic satellite (non-exchange) using relay selectors in which the line-connecting relays of each selector have slightly overlapping operated periods, in order to prevent momentary parallel connection of a junction to two subscriber's lines which results in clicking noises if one of the lines is engaged, the odd and evennumbered lines are grouped and the groups are alternately connected to the junction by means of two relays each operated by the release of the other and each dependent for operation on whether the selector is set to an odd or evennumbered subscriber. In a system similar to that shown in Fig. 3 of Specification 759,589, the two relays are the control relays S1 S2 (not shown) of the relay selector. Thus oddnumbered lines Tnl are connected over contacts such as 1<II1>, 1<II2> of the corresponding lineconnecting relay and contacts S2<I>, S2<III> of the control relay S2 to the junction VL1 and similarly even-numbered lines Tn2 are connected over contacts 2<II1>, 2<II2> of the corresponding lineconnecting relay and contacts S1<I>, S1<III> of the control relay S1. The relay selector is similar to that described in Specification 732,354.
