Abstract
757,982. Tubular heat-exchangers. HUET, A. Feb. 8, 1952 [Feb. 9, 1951], No. 3356/52. Addition to 739,150. Class 64(3). The assembly of longitudinally finned heat exchange tubes described in the parent Specification is modified by providing each tube a with transverse fins d in addition to the longitudinal fins b, c, the contour of the transverse fins being such that, when assembled, the edges of the fins d of adjacent tubes are in contact thus providing substantially continuous partitions defining a plurality of channels for the external fluid flowing in a direction F perpendicular to the axes of the tubes. The shape of the transverse fins may be such that the said channels are undulate.
