Abstract
757,387. Drawing arrangements for spinning machines. HARBECK, M., STEFFEN, H. W., STEFFEN, E., and HARBECK, M., [trading as HEIDENREICH & HARBECK.]. April 7, 1953 [April 9, 1952; Jan. 9, 1953], No. 9425/53. Class 120 (2). A spinning frame for bast and leaf fibres has a drawing device comprising a pair of belts located between feed and delivery rollers, one of the belts being partially supported by a roller adjacent the delivery rollers and mounted on a pivoted lever. A feed roller 2 is preferably mounted on a driving shaft 1 with which it is coupled for normal operation, but from which it is disconnected upon actuation of a stop motion by a thread feeler lever 34. Simultaneously with the stopping of the roller 2 on thread breakage, belt-supporting rollers 25, 29, which are geared to it, are stopped also. The lower belt 22 is carried by rollers 25, 26 and the upper belt 23 by rollers 29, 30, the two latter being staggered. Roller 30 is mounted on the end of a lever 32 suspended from a pivot 33 and adjustable by means of a rod 41. Also suspended from the pivot 33 is a curved arm 39 arranged to press the belts 22, 23 together. A feed pressure roller 11 is loaded by a spring 13 and a delivery pressure roller 16 is loaded by a spring 17 acting through a lever 51 held in position by a lever 47 having a cam surface 48. The spring 17 also serves to urge a roller 21 against a roller 20. In another embodiment, Fig. 4, an upper apron roller 59 is mounted on a lever 72 carried by a pivot 61, that also carries a curved arm 60 arranged to press belts 56, 57 together by means of an adjustable spring 75. The belts 56, 57 are also urged together by the resilient down-turned ends 76 of a number of rods 63 suspended from a pivot 65. A slide-member 64 may serve to adjust the pressure of the rods 63. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 516,466 and 731,868.
