A circular grain storage silo has a conical floor 16, a wall 18, whose height is less than the diameter of the silo, resting on the ground round the edge of the floor and a cover 21 resting on the wall 18 and supporting means 26 for the admission of grain. As shown, circular silos 11, 12, 13, 14, are grouped round a tower 15. The conical sides of the floors 16 make an angle of about 30 degrees .to the horizontal. The wall 18 may be of concrete prestressed by a spirally wound wire. A flange 20 on top of wall 18 forms a gutter 24 to collect condensation and also supports dome-roof 21 which may have openings 22 with glass windows 23. The centre of roof 21 has a circular opening 25 into which fits a distribution house 26 which receives the end of a bridge 27 leading from the central tower 15. A pneu- - matic conveyer tube 28 carries grain along bridge 27 and into a cyclone duct extractor 29 concentric with opening 25. Grain is carried from a well 30 at the lowest point of floor 16 by a pneumatic conveyer 32 within a passage 31 which extends up beneath floor 16 to ground level and along to tower 15. The joints in each silo are sealed to prevent moisture from entering and to facilitate fumigation. Tower 15 forms part of a control building 35 with a roof 36 having a V-shaped floor 34, 47 sloping down into a hopper 37 from which a bucket, screw or like elevator 38 extends up to the top of tower 15 to feed the conveyers 28 through hoppers 50, 51 and a distributing valve 52. At one side of tower 15 at ground level there is a loading platform 39 adjacent a grille 43 through which bags of grain may be emptied. Adjacent platform 39 there are grilles 40, 42 beside and beneath a railway track 41 for unloading hopper and side wagons respectively on to floor 34, 47. At the other side of the tower lorries can discharge their contents through a similar grille 46. Valve 52 can also be directed to the hoppers of a bagging store 60. One of the silos may be subdivided and a series of shoots are provided leading from extractor 29 to the various compartments.
