Abstract

756,595. Rectifying. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.-GES. March 18, 1954, No. 7926/54. Class 38 (2). A contact rectifier having switching chokes D supplies during starting an initial basic load G connected to the phases between the switching chokes D and the contacts K, through auxiliary rectifiers V. Thus, there may be no overlap of closure of the main contacts K during starting, the initial load current being sufficient to allow the switch chokes to reach their normal magnetization cycle. A control arrangement may then adjust contact operation times to suit a small main load which can be switched in without disturbance by closure of main switch H. Switch A is then opened to interrupt the initial load current, or dotted connections may be made so that basic load G is connected across the D.C. lines and rectifiers V are connected as bypasses across contacts K. In a modification an initial load is connected between switching-in contacts and the main switching contacts of each phase of a double star circuit with an interphase transformer, and the centre point of the interphase transformer, Fig. 2 (not shown).
