[Also in Group XXXIV] To effect variation of the track width of a tractor by power rotation of the axle, a tractor wheel comprises a body disc 18 secured to a hub 17 and having a radial split 19 so that the disc periphery 20 defines a helical path to co-operate with means 22 on the rim 12 whereby relative rotation of the disc and rim results in axial movement of the rim on the disc. As shown, the disc edge 20 is reinforced by a split ring 28 which engages in rectangular-section notches 25 in a series of equi-spaced transverse bars 22 secured to the inner periphery of the rim 12. Each bar 22 has a number of notches 25 therealong, interspaced by wedge-section notches 26, corresponding notches 25 of the series of bars 22 being relatively axially displaced to conform with the helix of the disc edge. The rim and disc are clamped in the desired relative axial position by blocks 30 bolted to the disc edge ring 28 and having a sloping surface 33 to wedge against corresponding sloping surfaces of the notches 26, tilting of the blocks 30 being prevented by wedge engagement with brackets 36 welded to the ring 28. To prevent detachment of the rim from the disc, two stop-plates 38 are bolted to one of the bars to cover respectively the extreme outer notches 25.
