Abstract

755,633. Wire rope slings. COOKE & CO., Ltd., W. Dec. 31, 1954 [Jan. 13, 1954], No. 1042/54. Class 78 (4). A sling is formed by disposing an endless wire rope in three elongated loops as shown in Fig. 1, drawing the loops E, F, G together to form an eye, and then plaiting together the legs L, M, N of the loops to form a flat plaited rope which is terminated by drawing together the three loops H, J, K and E, F, G to form terminal eyes. A thimble R, V, Fig. 4, is inserted in each eye and is secured by a seizing W. The eyes may be served with cord Q, T. The three pairs of legs L, M, N are braided together by passing each side pair in turn over the middle pair without twisting.
