[Also in Group X] A concertina wire coil 1 comprises along its length alternate large and small convolutions, the small convolutions 3a, 3b being so connected together that when the coil is expanded they are deformed into extending within the large convolutions. The small convolutions may be elliptical and angularly offset with respect to one another and connected together at two diametrically opposite points of intersection 4. The wire may be provided with barbs and comprise single or stranded wire.
