Abstract

<PICT:0754478/III/1> <PICT:0754478/III/2> In an electrostatic coating apparatus the distance between pointed ionizing electrodes 18 and the workpiece, a moving strip S, increases for succeeding electrodes towards the end of the cabinet into which the coating material is delivered. The electrodes 18 are mounted on baffles 26 which, in co-operation with baffles 46 extending the length of the cabinet form an enclosure for the coating space. The points on the electrodes are formed by saw teeth 24, Fig. 5. Steel strips may be coated with oil.
