Abstract
753,723. Switch cases; switchgear structures. BROOKHIRST SWITCHGEAR, Ltd., and BUTTERWORTH, E. M. Aug. 6, 1954 [Aug. 13, 1953], No. 22316/53. Class 38(5) A switchgear structure comprises a casing, e.g. of an isolator switch, with a lid which carries a switch operating member having a part working in a gate which prevents removal or replacement of the lid except when the operating member is in its OFF position, said lid having a switch locking detent adapted to be rendered inoperative by a lug on the lid of an associated switch, e.g. a contactor. The isolator lid 16 carries a slidable operating member 18 having a portion 21 engaging the switch mechanism 24 and a tongue 22 which can only pass through a gate 23 when the member 18 is OFF. A spring detent 25 on the lid has a portion 26 which co-operates with an arm 20 on member 18 to prevent movement of the latter to the ON position except when the detent is pressed back by a lug 27 on the contactor lid 12, the lug 27 passing through a slot 15 in the lid 16 when lid 12 is in position. When the member 18 is in the ON position, the arm 20 'overlies the lug 27 to prevent removal of the contactor lid 12.
