Abstract

751,212. Dipping sheep. MAWBET, C. P. Nov. 5, 1954, No. 32103/54. Class 5 (1). [Also in Group XXX] A sheep-dipping appliance comprises a tank containing dipping fluid, a cage suspended above the tank and an hydraulic ram having a piston at each end to operate means for raising and lowering the cage. Posts 15-18 fixed to the tank 12 support bearings 19-22 through which are.disposed rods 23 and 24 which carry pulley wheels at their ends. Ropes or chains 11 fastened to these pulley-wheels support the cage 10 which is constructed with end gates, sides of wire mesh and a bottom of wooden slats. Transverse struts 31 and 32 support a member 33 on which is mounted a double-pistoned hydraulic ram 34 which can raise or lower the cage through the medium of a system of ropes 38 and 39 acting on two pulleys 25 and 26 as shown in Fig. 4. Pressure for the hydraulic ram is fed through the nozzle 37.
