Abstract
750,836. Automatic exchange equipment. COMMUNICATIONS PATENTS, Ltd. Feb. 5, 1954, No. 3451/54. Class 40 (4). [Also in Group XL (b)] A high-speed switching apparatus comprises a number of gates such as pentode valves 25, 29, 30 which are opened in turn by the simultaneous application of potentials from two or more dekatrons 4, 15. One dekatron 4 is driven directly by guide electrodes 3, 6 from a pulse or alternating source 1, and cyclically applies a potential to all the gates in turn and to the second dekatron 15 over an amplifier 14. The second dekatron has each cathode separately associated with a group of gates and the conductive potential is stepped from one group to the next each time dekatron 4 completes an operating cycle. An unconnected cathode 11m in the first dekatron provides a delay period at the completion of each cathodescanning cycle during which the amplifier and dekatron 15 operate.
