A conveyer belt 11 feeding battery grids 13 from a dispenser 18 beneath a hopper 19 where the paste is applied by rollers 45, 46, is aligned with respect to its idler pulley 14 by a guide 10 comprising plates 32, 34 spaced apart a distance corresponding to the thickness of the belt by adjustable guide bars 38, 39. Each guide bar is formed with a pair of parallel slots 41, 42 through which extend bolts 35 which engage in threaded openings 37 in flanges 26, 27 on a pair of parallel members 21, 22 secured by bolts 23 to conveyer frame elements 24, 25. The lower edges 28, 29 of the flanges 26, 27 are shaped so as to define a plane having an inclination corresponding with that of the belt produced by the tension pulley 31, and the plate 32 is secured to these flanges so as to be similarly inclined.
