[Also in Groups X, XI and XIII] A panel or ceiling has plates 1 supported by pipes 2 or bars which may heat or cool the plates for attempering a room, U-shaped resilient clips 16, Fig. 5, each embracing a pipe or bar and, by means of wings 17, embracing flanges 3 of the plates so that part-cylindrical portions 4 of the flanges are clamped against the pipe or bar. Furthermore, the wings 17 guide a plate to the pipe or bar when it is urged into position. The aluminium plates 1 have bulged recesses 15 formed in the flange-portions 4 to locate the clips 16 and have holes 10 leading to sound and heat insulating 11 which covers their upper surfaces. The clips 16 are of " Duralumin " (Registered Trade Mark) or steel. The plates may be mounted with a corner of one plate coinciding with the middle of an adjacent plate. A panel may be fitted flush with a wall or spaced therefrom, e.g. a strip-like panel or a whole sub-ceiling may be secured to pipes 2 suspended from a ceiling 9. Some of the plates in a heating or cooling system may be non-conducting or attached to pipes or bars having no thermal function.
