750,274. Ship propulsion. MARCON, E. July 5, 1954, No. 19612/54. Classes 113 and 114. In a screw propeller the outer ends 9 of the blades 8 are carried on a rotatable ring 7 mounted in a housing or casing 4 and means are provided for rotating the ring, i.e. it has a toothed perimeter and is driven by a gearwheel 12. The blades have the configuration shown in Fig. 3. The housing 4 is located in a chamber 2 of the hull 1 (Fig. 1) forward of the rudder 3.
