Abstract
749,476. Roofs. BLUMFIELD, C. V. Sept. 16. 1954 [Sept. 25, 1953], No. 26452/53. Class 20(4). An end unit B, Fig. 1, for a barrel vault roof lattice frame A, of the kind described in Specification 694,378, comprises spaced longitudinal members 13, transverse members 14, and angled bracing members 15, secured together at their common intersection points, the longitudinal and transverse members, in alignment with the corresponding roof members 10, 11, being curved respectively toward the end transverse member 14 and unit side members 16, and the barrel vault frame being inwardly mitred at its ends to receive the correspondingly shaped end units B. The side members 16 of the end units are secured to complementary members 17 of the roof frame, e.g. by welding, riveting, or by bolts. In a modification the apices of the triangular end units are removed to provide a quadrilateral shaped unit which fits into a correspondingly shaped roof end.
