748,851. Bearings. GLACIER METAL CO., Ltd. Oct. 13,1954 [Nov. 6,1953], No. 30798/53. Class 12 (1). [Also in Group XXII] Bearings pressed from flat blanks of steel &c. faced with copper-lead or other bearing metals have castellated flanges 5, Fig. 2, with intermediate slots 3 which prevent the formation of cracks during flanging. Radial lubricating grooves 6 on the flanges may connect with grooves in the main bore. The margins of the blank may be machined down to produce flanges 8, Fig. 3, of reduced thickness or grooves 9, Fig. 4, may be formed along the bend line of the flange.
