A bottle 3 containing liquid insecticide &c. is connected to a pipe 5 through which water flows to a spray nozzle on a delivery pipe 6 via a control valve 7 operated by a trigger 8. A part of the water, under the control of a valve 11, flows through a tube 9 and a perforated head 10 and forces insecticide &c. from the bottle through a duct 12 into the main water stream.
