744,335. Planing; milling; making metal sheet. UNGERER, F. Aug. 12, 1953, No. 22236/53. Classes 83 (2) and 83 (3). Apparatus for treating sheet metal comprises a straightening device 2 which feeds the rough sheet 3 to a cutting-device 8 which machines the entire surface of at least one side of the sheet. The planing tools 8 are carried on chains engaging sprockets 5 rotated by a motor 7. The chains are vertically adjustable for depth of cut and are tensioned by screws 13. Verticallyadjustable conveyer-rolls 10 support the machined sheet and may also act as further straightening means. The planing tools may be replaced by milling cutters having axes at right angles to the sheet.
