Abstract
743,467. Moulds for resinous substances. RUNKEL, R., and JOST, J. Aug. 15, 1950 [Oct. 1, 1948; Sept. 7, 1949], No. 6217/55. Divided out of 743,401. Class 87 (2). A mould for use, e.g. in a method of moulding substances of vegetable origin as described in Specification 743,401 has a gas-tight joint comprising grooves 20, 21 between the parts 18, 19 thereof, which grooves are fitted with moulding material, during moulding. In a modification, Fig. 4, the grooves 20, 21 are provided in a separate ring 27 arranged between the mould parts 25, 26. The mould is heated or cooled by plates 22. Metal parts may be fixed on or into the moulded article by securing them to the mould, before moulding. The mould may be provided with valves through which material may be extruded during moulding. The mould parts may be pressed together in a hydraulic or screw press or by endless bands.
