Abstract

743,379. Ventilators. F 1NDLAY, U. K. Aug. 10, 1954 (Sept. 29, 1953], No. 26762/53. Class 137. A ventilation device applicable to the top or bottom of a door or window frame comprises a sheet metal chamber a, having a main portion apertured at d for fixing bolts or screws, an outwardly projectingportion e apertured at f on its underside to form air inlets, a downward extension h on its inner side having air exit apertures g, a rearward extension k housing a manually operable air inlet valve l, and a shoulder q and seating d oppositely disposed between the air inlets f and outlets g. When the device is fixed at the top of a window, the shoulder q is on the upper wall b of the chamber a and engages the window frame c, the seating i recessing the upper edge of the glass j. When applied at the lower edge of a window the downward extension h is replaced by an upward extension p having air exit openings o. The device may be formed in long lengths, strips being cut off as required and as applied to door frames, the door when closed engages seatings similar to those i in the Figure.
