Abstract
742,854. Shaker conveyers. CARRIER CONVEYOR CORPORATION, [formerly WHITLEY-CARRIER CO.]. Jan. 20, 1951, No. 1575/51. Class 78 (1). Shaker conveyer 100 (Fig. 1) is supported by springs 103, 104, adjustable in length, from a base 106 mounted on wheels 107, and impulses are supplied at resonant frequency from motor 111, the latter driving crank arm 119 from crank 112 so as to rock link 117 about point 122 and thus to rock the conveyer 100 through connection 118, the point 122 being connected through piston-rod 126 and cylinder 124 to base 106, and the piston thereof having a restricted flow orifice to permit the settling of the conveyer under load. Counterbalance 127 is connected by springs 128, 129 to base 106 and by spring 132 to conveyer 100. Alternatively, eccentric 210 (Fig. 2) drives conveyer 200 through fluid cylinder 213, the piston 212 thereof having orifice 217 to permit " settling " of the conveyer under load.
