Abstract
741,936. Transformers. SOUTH WALES SWITCHGEAR, Ltd., BUTTREY, R. N., and MATHER, A. G. July 27,1953 [Aug. 27,1952], No. 21592/52. Class 38 (2). [Also in Group XXXVII] In an enclosed high-voltage circuit-breaker having at least one current transformer 9 surrounding a terminal bushing 6, either the transformer or the bushing may be removed without removing the other. The bushing 6 is carried by a mounting 20 secured by bolts 21 to a flange 19 of the top plate 1 of the circuitbreaker, the mounting having a downwardlyextending cylindrical sleeve 22 supporting the bushing. The transformer is housed in the annular space between the sleeve 22 and a cylindrical liner 23 which is positioned by a stop 24 abutting the flange 19. A retaining plate 26 is secured to the liner 23 by nuts 27 on spigots 25 on the lower end of the liner. The plate 26 is secured to the sleeve 22 by a nut 29 on the threaded lower end of the sleeve. To remove the transformer, the oil tank 14 is lowered and the nuts 27, 29 and plate 26 are removed. The transformer can then be lowered out of the liner. To remove the bushing, the oil tank is lowered and the nuts 21, 29 are removed. The bushing and its mounting can then be removed upwardly, leaving the transformer in position.
