Abstract
741,513. Vehicle locking devices. FIAT SOC. PER AZIONI. Aug. 7,1953 [Oct. 2, 1952], No. 21898/53. Class 79 (3). In order to lock a vehicle, the changespeed output shaft carries a toothed wheel 6, rotation of which is prevented by a pawl 11 being engaged therewith, the pawl being oscillatable about an axis parallel to that of the shaft by downward movement of an eccentric member 24 on a rod 22, depression of the rod 22 to control the position of the pawl relative to the toothed wheel being effected from a push button 19a and through a key-operated lock, and the lock being embedded in the button and controlling rotation of the rod 22. In operation depression of the button does not move the pawl into its locking position unless the lock has been operated to rotate the member 24 into a position above the higher end of the pawl 11. The pawl 10 is retained in its inoperative position by a spring-urged button 13 engaging a recess 12.
