[Also in Group XI] A heating element 1 of conducting refractory material has at least one terminal in the form of a steel block 2 having a flat face 3 for engaging a flat face 4 on a water-cooled supporting block 5, the latter block carrying a magnet 9 arranged so as to hold the faces 3, 4 in engagement. The faces 3, 4 may be arcuate. Specification 740,072, [Group XI], is referred to.
