Abstract

736,616. Puckered fabrics. NEISLER MILLS, Inc. Feb. 2, 1953, No. 2926/53. Class 142(4). Direct-spun rayon, which shrinks permanently on wetting, is incorporated in fabrics as warp or weft or both, together with non-shrinkable yarns, to cause puckering. Groups of directspun yarns may alternate with groups of ordinary rayon in the warp to produce puckered stripes, or single yarns may alternate to produce a crepe effect. Ribbon may have one or both selvedges, or a narrow central zone, flat and the remainder puckered. As shown in Fig. 15, floats 92 of direct spun rayon produce diagonal prominences 82 on the face of the fabric.
