The rollers in a conveyer chain have rounded or semispherical portions 6 and a central cylindrical portion 7 for engagement by the teeth of the chain driving sprocket. The connecting pins 3 are rivetted to the arms of the substantially U-shaped link and pass through elongated rests 9 in the bow portion of the adjacent link. The roller is caged within the bow portion of the link before the assembly of the chain.
