Abstract

732,148. Floors, walls. POLACK, A. M., and POLACK, J. H. Jan. 5, 1953 [Jan. 8, 1952], No. 261/53. Class 20 (4). [Also in Groups XI and XIII] Heaters, such as hot water or steam tubes 9 or electric resistance elements, are each arranged in a hollow space between a first panel 2 and a second, heat-radiating panel 6, e.g. of a floor 1 and ceiling 7 respectively or of the sides of a party wall. Moreover, perforated heat-diffusing plates 10 connect each heater and panel 6 which is also perforated so that sound may pass to a sound-absorbing and heat-insulating layer 13. The plates 10 have tongues 17 bearing resiliently on the tubes 9. The panels 2, 6 are made of plaster, wood or metal and are fixed to concrete, wood or metal beams 4 by hooks or nails. The edges of the plates may be screwed, soldered or welded to the panels 6 to form units for the support of the tubes 9.
