Abstract
731,929. X-ray tubes. LICENTIA PATENTVERWALTUNGS-GES. Feb. 1, 1952 [Feb. 3, 1951], No. 2809/52. Class 39 (1). In a fine-focus X-ray tube having an electron lens focusing system within the envelope, it is arranged that the focus and the tube load vary together in reciprocal relationship. The focus is varied by altering the lens potentials and currents, and the load by altering the filament and anode currents. The two functions may be mechanically linked under a single control. The lens may be electrostatic or magnetic, or both. Conditions imposed by tube load and focus requirements are considered theoretically.
