731,790. Pipe couplings. AEROQUIP CORPORATION. Nov. 25, 1952 [Nov. 27, 1951], No. 6109/54. Divided out of 731,709. Class 99 (1). In hose-pipe fittings of the kind wherein the end of the hose is gripped between a nipple 4 and a socket 2, a sleeve 7 fitted on the nipple is pressed into sealing engagement with the bore of the hose by fluid pressure admitted through holes 8 in the nipple. In Fig. 1, the edges 7a of the sleeve 7 are secured in recesses in the nipple by vulcanization, and in Fig. 2 one edge 7c only is secured and the remainder is free, the opposite edge being confined in a recess 4d.
