Abstract
730,349. Photographic image-reception paper. AGFA AKT.-GES., FUR PHOTOFABRIKATION. May 19, 1953 [May 19, 1952], No. 14055/53. Class 98 (2). A thin paper such as is used for air-mail letters is provided on one side with a layer of film-forming colloid containing nuclei for reception of a positive image by the silver salt diffusion process and is releasably secured on the other side to a thicker paper. In use adhesive between the papers is dissolved or softened during the developing process, to permit easy removal of the thin paper carrying the positive image. The invention thus avoids distortion involved in coating and processing thin paper by itself. Examples of the reception layer, which may include gelatine, methyl cellulose, polyvinyl alcohol, colloidal silver or silver sulphide nuclei, hypo, 2-mercaptobenzthiazole and 1- phenyl-5-mercapto-1,2,3,4-tetrazole; and of the adhesive layer which may comprise a gelatine or gum arabic paraffin or montan wax dispersion; are provided. The free side of the thicker paper may also have a reception layer. Specifications 614,155, 654,630, 687,751 and 695,905 are referred to.
