Abstract
730,113. Autographic registers. REDWING, Ltd. March 30, 1954 [April 1, 1953], No. 9038/53. Class 16. An autographic register of the kind in which forms are successively on a platen below an aperture in the top of the register and in which elements for engaging perforations in the leading form are movable to disengaged positions to allow the form to be withdrawn from an exit aperture, has a movable tray or like receptacle normally held latched within the register which is automatically ejected under spring action upon manual operation of a device divorced from the means for disengaging the elements from the perforations in the leading form. The register shown comprises a base 1 and cover 2 provided with means for disengaging the form engaging pins as described in Specification 730,112. A partition 10 in the base 1 defines a compartment housing a mainly rectangular tray 11 of which one side 12 forms part of the adjacent wall of the base 1. The first wall 13 of the tray has a forwardly extending plate 14 pivotally mounted on a pin 15 near the side wall 12 so that the tray 11 can pivot out to the position shown in chain lines. The rear wall 16 of the tray has an aperture 17 for engagement by a latch 18 on the end of a leaf spring 19 secured to a flange 20 on a plate 21. The latch 18 is released by a projection 23 on a lever 22 pivoted at 21<SP>1</SP> to the plate 21, the projection being pressed against the spring 19 adjacent the tray on operation of a pin 24 on the other arm of lever 22, the pin extending through an aperture in the adjacent side wall of the base 1. The tray is ejected by means of a rod 25 passing through a guide plate 27 secured to the wall 13, the rod 25 being pivoted to the base at 26 and having a coiled spring 28 under tension in the closed position of the tray, extending between the plate 27 and an abutment 29 adjacent the pivot 26. Outward movement of the tray is limited by a projection 30 on rod 25 engaging the plate 27.
