[Also in Group XXX] A lifting-stacking truck has a load lifting mechanism 2 arranged in front of its front axle and a readily adjustable counterweight 9 arranged behind its rear axle, the counterweight being pivotable or displaceable and in its inoperative or closed position lying adjacent the truck's coachwork conforming in design with the contours of the coachwork. The counterweight may be pivoted as shown so that it extends partly over the rear of the truck or so that it extends over the whole of the rear. In the latter case, when the counterweight is horizontal it may also act as a platform. The counterweight may alternatively be mounted on swinging arms or it may be arranged to slide rearwardly by means of rods. The counterweight is moved by known mechanical or hydraulic means.
