Abstract

The invention comprises polyglycol esters of amino acids of the formula <FORM:0728583/IV (a)/1> where the phenyl may be substituted by OH, R and R1 are hydrocarbon residues of up to 6 carbon atoms, or R may also be hydrogen, and n is 4-50, obtainable by esterifying the acid with a polyglycol or ether thereof. In examples a polyethylene glycol ether of average mol. wt. 750 is used to esterify 4-butyl-amino benzoic acid, n in the product having the average value of 16. Other polyglycol ethers give similar products in which n may be 4-8, and 18.ALSO:The invention comprises polyglycol esters of aminoacids of the formula <FORM:0728583/IV (b)/1> where the phenyl may be substituted by OH,R and R1 are hydrocarbon residues of up to 6 carbon atoms, or R may also be hydrogen, and n is 4-50, obtainable by esterifying the acid with a polyglycol or ether thereof. In examples a polyethylene glycol ether of average mol. wt. = 750 is used to esterify 4-butylaminobenzoic acid, n in the product having the average value of 16. Other polyglycol ethers give similar products in which n may be 4-8, and 18.
